Doll Doll Dolly Market Research!

Where do I begin? I guess I will start by saying my last business idea wasn't for me and I decided to put that on hold. I still want to achieve all that I had planned but unfortunately it would be far too demanding. I set out a few years ago to start an accessories label, but for some crazy creative reason I got sidetracked and started doing other things. I guess I am a little bit of a crazy creative scientist, always experimenting with new things.

Annnnnywayyyy, I wrote in my last post of my intentions for Doll Doll Dolly and I have been working on a business plan this week. I hate being restricted to academic boring work, but if you want to succeed it has to be done! I just want to ask a few questions to my readers to help me through my market research. I find this pretty hard going as I prefer to be creative. If you wouldn't mind taking ten minutes out of you day to help me, I would be extremely grateful.

When buying something for a special occasion would you rather buy something handmade? If so would you pay a little extra for something unique?

Your wedding is one of the biggest days of you life! Would this be an occasion where you would seek out something individual? Would you again pay extra?

Would you prefer to wear something in you hair that you could wear after your wedding? Or would you like to wear a traditional veil?

Are you concerned with trends or do you like classic design?

Would you look for something on the high street or on an online market like Etsy?

Do you like to support local business instead of large companies?

When buying something for a special occasion what kind of item do you go for?

***

Thank you for reading.

Revamp!

New Business Cards!

Doll Doll Dolly is about to go under a complete make over! I have been sitting here all morning editing photos and putting together a design for my business cards (above). I have decided to go back to making beautiful handmade accessories and I will be introducing my bridal range this summer! I am so excited! I have been working on new and exciting designs the last few weeks and putting together a business plan to present to the Prince's Trust. I started Doll Doll Dolly as an accessories label so I have decided to concentrate on my original idea and just go for it! I am Petrified!

I have been designing new accessories for my next collection and I have also been working with new elegant materials. I love to experiment with new techniques but sometimes it can be extremely difficult to get it right. My new bridal range is my baby right now, I have been working on veils and new elaborate headpiece! I will be working on a new blog design this weekend to go with my new look! I will also be having a SALE in my etsy shop to officially say goodbye to my old look. Happy Friday everyone!

New Home! New Inspiration!

I made this for the new flat

Ahhhhh I am finally in my new home, unpacked and enjoying life with my boyfriend. We have been extremely excited about having all of our collectibles on display, which has been a dream of both of ours for a long time. The big bonus of having a boyfriend who also collects awesome things is that I am constantly inspired by the things around me. We recently purchased a real ram skull, a dream for both of us and it didn't disappoint! Bazza the ram is now sitting comfortably on our marble fireplace in front of my large ram skull drawing. I think we have a thing about rams.

Moving is always stressful, but when you move in with someone similar to you it's pretty easy to find places for all your things. We have doubled up on many things, so I expect our Ebay accounts will be busy in the near future. For the first time in 2 years I finally feel settled. I'm no longer commuting to see Dan, living out of a bag and I don't dump my things, sleep, and then do it all over again. I now have all my things around me and all of my clothes hung up in my new wardrobe! Huzzah! Home life is pretty good right about now, however the reality of a 'normal' life is a challenge and I am having to adapt.

My friend Katie made me this.
